White House Creek Road, North Coast Santa Cruz/San Mateo Counties, January 7, 2005.

The coastal mountains north of Santa Cruz offer a lot of enjoyable riding. There are several back roads that connect and run North to South. The main ones trace the old stagecoach routes. You sometimes see remains of old Highway 1. There are far ranging views of the Pacific, including Ano Nuevo Island and the remains of the old lighthouse (replaced by Pidgeon Point lighthouse). On this day we had breakfast in Pescadero at Duarte's, took the back roads North to the 84 and then South on Highway 1 and back roads starting at Pescadero area again.
